I’M WALKING! I’M WALKING!

Yes! I am walking! Rehab is going well. No more crutches! No more knee braces, no ankle supports. Only an occasional use of a knee support.

And then like the overwhelming trumpeting voice of God breaks in with the words, “just take it easy for a few weeks.”

Yeah. me take it easy. We will see how this goes. As Melissa says, I am the world’s worst patient.

I’ll try, honest, really.

Cross my heart and… well you know.

Anyway rehab still continues. I actually got to do some real short “bursts” of slow jogging. I am not convinced that burst is a fair word for what I was doing. I basically just went to a slow airborne shuffle for 10-15 seconds at a time. Knee was stiff and felt, well not painful but not real firm. It was like it didn’t really trust itself to do what it was doing.

So I have now graduated to walking every day. Every other day I am to wear a knee support and slowly work in some 13-30 seconds of painfully slow jogging. I am still several weeks before I will be clear of all restrictions, but I am getting there.

I can’t wait for the new year to begin. I’m going to be out on the street corner, following the Ecuador tradition of burning some Ano Viejos (Old Men or Old Year) with my neighbors. How about you guys? What wonderful things do you have on tap for New Years Eve?
